Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of our mother school, the North American alumni will be hosting an event honouring one of the founding teachers, Dr. Evelyn Eaton. The ceremony and celebration will take place on September 27 and 28, 2008, in San Francisco, California. More information will be posted as it becomes available. Stay tuned!
We are pleased to announce that our donations last year have been delivered to the alumni organization in Hong Kong. Due to the strong Canadian dollar, the amount converted to Hong Kong dollars is more than we originally anticipated. Thanks to Anthony Poon, class of ’61, for following up in Hong Kong and delivering the cheque. We have received an official receipt from the Raimondi Alumni Association in Hong Kong.
Our alma mater has announced plans to relocate the primary section of the school to Stubbs Road, Wanchai (currently St. Margaret’s College) as early as 2008, dedicating the venerable school buildings in Mid-levels to the secondary section. This expansion will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the school, and the school and the alumni association have started a fund-raising campaign to help the effort. Thanks to our membership, we were able to raise $926 at the annual dinner last Friday, and the committee has pledged to top up our donation to a sum of $2,000.
